    Computer Speakers

Ok looking for some serious response here about the quality of the product, not its looks.

Thinking about getting Logitech Z-5500 surround speakers
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/sp...s/224&cl=au,en

what I'd like is, has anyone got them and are they any good?

    If not, any alternate suggestions?

for that kind of money you could get a good lifestyle system from JB-Hifi and use a coaxial connection to get true 5.1

yes that was the other option I was thinking, was wondering which would end up being better (ie higher quality/more powerful sub and speakers)

No way you can get better 5.1 surround speakers, THX certified, with both optical and coaxial digital input, and all that for only $400. I have been using the previous model for over 6 years now (as my TV/HTPC speakers) and they never missed a beat.

He wants to spend $799. There are lifestyle systems out there for that price that will crap all over that logitech system
