which disables the phone from connecting using 3G all the time even when in a wifi area.
makes your battery last heaps longer. and if your with vodafone like me, stops the the thick phone bills that has pages and pages of internet usage for small amounts 24 hours a day.
easy to turn on and off when you need to use the net on 3G.
only found out because I was getting annoyed with the thick phone bills, to see that it was connecting all the time 24/7, even though i have wifi at work and home.

but i dont understand why that should matter anyway, if ive got wifi it should be connecting through that..?
This is a snapshot of my bill, i think i have it checking my email every half hour, but thats about it - even though sometimes the times it connects is a bit random. think the only time i didnt have wifi is the 507Kb usage.
but every other time it is connected why is it using 3G?

See if your provider has an unlimited plan. It's usually free to change your plan. I'm on vodafones $114 unlimited plan. I never have to worry about 3G usage
snotty, wheres the info on this?
mines gone crazy this month, over 110% data usage and still 2 weeks to go
