Nah not always. Sometimes you do but sometimes theres no need as the plug will reach

If you follow the wires, they end up in a black long box thing on top of your injectors. Take the top off and find the wires from the maf. unravel the bunch and extend them a bit. There's usually enough extra wire in there. You can also turn the plug around if you are on a strange angle and run the wires from the top of the box thing instead of coming from underneath.
