Had a rather eventful day. Last day or two, I thought the van was making funny noises coming from the clutch release bearing. But, in true Hyundai fashion, I rolled into the Torrensville depot swearing and cursing at the fact the clutch just gave out. Rang douchebag aka "mechanic", reckons it had nothing to do with him and is trying to dismiss any claim to repair, but as they had the engine out and threw it in the back of the van with all the oily parts, I'd say the clutch disc had been contaminated and was then put back in without any due care. Now, I'm normally a very quiet and understanding person, but I don't think I've ever abused anyone over the phone like I did.
Anyway, who wants to attend an Elizabethan bonfire? BYO food and drinks though. It'll be good to watch that POS go up in flames. Meanwhile, I've hired a Hiace, which I must say as much as I give them crap, they're not that bad and now I'm thinking of getting one. Otherwise, I'm tempted to get a Ford Transit.

Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.
This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....

2003 Astra G Sri-T (very blaack)
Oil and filter, top up the gearbox and re-adjusted the gearshift linkage (hopefully for the last time!) and nothing broke, spilt or went missing!! YAY!
Put engine cover back on the SRi and cleaned up a couple of little things in the engine bay. Also fitted new front engine mount, which makes the gearshift feel bloody awesome now.
iLoad got towed again. The guys who did the engine work didn't have enough room to do anything on it, so they've sent it to another workshop near by. New guy is awesome to deal with and understands I need the van for work, not to sit in someone's yard for four months. He also seems to think I should be able to get a replacement clutch from Exedy under warranty too, which would be a big relief. From what I have told the guy, he believes that it is the clutch disc that is worn and not the clutch release bearing (although, that'll probably be stuffed too).
