Just a matter of figuring out how to connect that remote turn on wire to the headunit so the sub only comes on when the headunit turns on.. dont want to flatten my battery now! Click here to enlarge
Nice Click here to enlarge If you check out the manual for your head unit, it'll say which wire on the loom coming out the back is for the remote turn on for your amp. That's how mine was anyway. Should be able to google the model of the unit and get a manual if you don't have it, mine is on the alpine website

Unless it is a french-made unit, it should be a blue wire

Yeah mine was blue/white, have to be a bit careful as they tend to run out of colours and use stripes, my blue one was for powering an antenna. Should be able to test it with a test light, just be live when the stereo is on I think.

yeah I looked in the manual and it says its a blue/white wire too. could be since both of ours are alpine headunits!
all i've left to do is connect the two together and we should be in action!

The main one used by all aftermarket stereos is blue with a white stripe. It's part of the iso system to make things easier for audio installers...

    Fitted new suspension!

Followed this guide http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/sh...d.php?t=217591, but rather than taking 2 hours, it was more like 7, of which 6 hours was spent on the front right strut. I had to go on a bit of a drive to go and get an offset 21mm ring spanner, then had to spend another hour or so angle grinding it down into a shape that would fit inside the strut retaining ring thing.

Will post pictures etc in my Members car thread

    Drowned MAF in MAF cleaner
    Cleaned throttle body
Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.

This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....
