04 Astra Linea Rossa - Build thread
Ordered 4 x 150mm linear potentimeters for the Astra. Now we can measure and log suspension travel in compression and bounce as well as see of we are creating decent downforce with the planned aero package by logging speed versus compression with minimal steering angle!!

A suspension Potentiometer, is different to regular potentiometer...
Fitted like so.

I disagree and perhaps a 3rd term at Altronics is in your future
What you have pictured is a rotary potentiometer and this varies resistance based on the rotary movement of a shaft.
However, you missed an important piece of information in the naming of the items to hand, those being LINEAR Potentiometers. Not Rotary Potentiometers.
So, the definition of Linear is - of, relating to, or resembling a line (straight)
So if a rotary potentiometer works through the variation of resistance through rotary or circular movement, how do you think a linear potentiometer works.
Hint: They look like this and move in a straight line....
EDIT: Adam!!! Bugger beat me to it!! Damn slow loading photobucket!!
However you can also use a spring loaded rotary potentiometer or a load cell where the forces are high enough....
