Bolted the head and all the crap back on to Mum's Viva. All went well until I got to the water pump. Ordered one from fleabay, that apparently fits the F18D3 engine in the Viva (and subsequent F18D4 in the Cruze), as well as pretty much any 1.8/2.0/2.2 GM Family II engine. The problem here? Well, the F18D3 is an almost exact copy of the Z18XE (Which is in fact a Family 1) found in the Astras, even down to the fact that Holden will sell you an Opel-branded timing belt kit that also suits the Z18XE for the Viva. Which would mean that to use a Family II pump on a Family 1, would sound somewhat illogical and guess what, it is. From looking at the now stuffed F18D3 pump, it's pretty much the same as that of that Z18XE.

So now, it's down to Repco in the morning to get raped for a Z18XE water pump just to get the bloody thing running again, as it needs to be finished ASAP. Hopefully, if time permits, I'll be off to have another crack at the wagon. Gonna try changing the crank sensor first to see if that removes the P0340, before I start stuffing around with the cams and the timing.

Would actually be nice to just get one car finished, but if I can nail two in one day, I'd be extremely happy. Oh, and if anyone wants a brand new pump for the Vectra/Calibra cheap, just ask.

Gave it a good clean inside and out, clayed the bonnet because that was the worst of the paint and it was too hot to do the rest, lol. Also removed the smudge marks that the P plates left on the windows.

Going to take it out for some pictures after lunch. Been a while.

A full LED conversion to do it would set you back all of about $30-$40.

I've done a few of mine and it makes a huge difference, the best one was the interior one.

Yeah it was about $30 including postage! I haven't done the dash/guages/heater control panel with LED's yet though.
Definitely the interior is looking much more fresh!
