Took the Astra to the blacktown drive-ins... 982 cars got in, with 180 turned away. Holy potato.

    Did a 3/4 detail.

    Washed.
    Clay Bared.
    Detailer.
    Cleaned rims.
    Silvo'd exhaust tips.
    Leather cleaned and protectant applied.

Looked at front and rear bumper, cried.

Tidied away the total closure module in the panel in the footwell. Tested it out. Watching the windows go up from the outside when I deadlock the car isn't going to get old for a long while - that's just too damn cool Click here to enlarge. Cleaned all the grass out of the footwell while I was at it. That spread to vacuuming the rest of the interior, and then cleaning the inside of the windows as well (and putting them back to the up position by locking and unlocking the car - yeah, I know, any excuse Click here to enlarge. When I got around to the tailgate (which has always been a smeary mess), I wasn't going to be deterred by the difficulties in reaching anything - so out came the parcel shelf, and I discovered standing in the boot with the car pointing down the driveway (circa 25 degrees) is a rather nice position to clean the inside of the tailgate from. It's not a bad way to get to the quarterlights either. They were filthy - I'm not sure that the inside of those had ever been cleaned properly.

Not convinced on the "streak free shine" cleaner I was using though - I could see plenty of streaks afterwards. I gave it another rub over with a fresh cloth, but by that stage the sun had gone in, so we'll see if that's helped any next time it sticks it's head through the clouds...
