It's not really what I've done but someone appears to have reversed into my car and I have scratches on my rear bumper! And also it looks like it's from a black car base on the colour of the scratches! Click here to enlarge

Yesterday: Brake fluid flush, then a wash, including pressure wash of the engine bay (bagged the alternator first). Had the battery box out to get at the clutch bleed nipple, but didn't end up doing it. Cleaned some corrosion off the battery area in general, and vaselined the terminals to prevent a re-occurrence.

Today: General swearing - appears to be a flat battery. Odd, as it was running fine yesterday, and completely dead this morning. So dead I've been thinking CIM or ECU must have died overnight as it wasn't responding to either key today. Have checked with two multimeters and it's got less than a volt in it. I'm hoping that the radio has simply defaulted to that 'always on' mode and tried to play a CD all night long. If not, a new battery is in order, as this one is four years old.

It's on the charger now, will see tomorrow if it's going to be no cost (charge), cheapish (new battery) or something more expensive.

Yesterday: bought new battery. Took battery home. Removed old battery. Looked at new battery. Looked at old battery. Scratched head, wondering why they were different sizes.

Today: Exchanged new battery for new battery of correct size.

Tonight: Will fit new new battery, and then find out exactly what now needs reprogramming having had no battery in the car for 24 hours...
