just got a call back from the mechanics, they fitted the new cam sensor and now the timing isn't right and i have to leave it there overnight. uh oh....hopefully it's not one of those faulty belt problems...

After driving through heavy rain and all the flood water my cars paint surface is absolutely covered in tar. Millions of tiny tar spots all over the car giving it a really rough feel as u slide your fingers across.
So yesterday I tried a different approach because this is beyond claybaring. I stuck a spray nozzle in 3M Wax and Grease Remover and sprayed it onto a small part of the surface. Instantly you can see the tar dripping off the paint. To avoid any scratches or paint damage I used Wash & Wax with my sponge to wipe it off. Works a treat!!

Get yourself some 3M Wax and Grease remover for tar removal!

Well they solved the timing problem and now it runs fine. Picked it up and did a quick inspection and noticed something odd underneath the driver's side of the car:



Notice how there's this massive snap in the plastic, is that something I should fix? What is the that opening to the left for? I was also concerned as to how low it was hanging..

Poor insulation = perfect example of poor cheapskate build quality.

Thats just the belt cover. Not major issue but i'd replace it with one from the wreckers just for the sake of it.

That's one clean looking bay, nice!

Changed the oil, fitted new DBA Slotted front rotors (waiting for new pads to arrive) and finally fitted the short shofter...
