Checked out the air con system today...is it normal for a 1.8 engine to require more pedal with the air con on? The revs lift a little when I have it turned on and I feel as if there's a loss of response and power in car.

Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.

This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....

Beautiful - combined with the fitting instructions HoldenAstra gave on the last page I should be right to go.

I've been talking to Twells, they've given me a quote, and I sent them some money this afternoon to get the parts ordered in. They also confirmed the part number are for rear and front (i.e. which side of the car doesn't matter).

I'm also grabbing the filters to do my 4yr service. So far I'm up to around AU$100 (just confirming a fuel filter and postage) - Holden wanted $75 each for the covers, plus another $130 for fitting, and $208 for the set of filters for the service. I'm miles in front - thanks to the help of everyone here.

    Is that an honest question?

Pulled of my rear wheels cos one has a nail in it. now looking commodore spec with good looking 18's on the front, and bad looking 17's on the back.
was easier to get the 17's out of the shed that get the spare out of my boot in case anyone was wondering :P

Yeah, as is in every car. You don't tend to notice it as much in a v6 or v8
