Just be aware the 225/45/17's may scrub. I have 225/45/17's on my car and they scrub every now and then.
Different 225's have different widths. Mine are a little wider than the last ones I had.

Not sure, mines never had stock suspension..
Had Eibach's from new and now have Bilstien coil overs....

Rears only on a serious compression or when seriously loaded up mid corner or weight wise...

well, that doesn't sound too bad, it's not like it's going to occur frequently. Anyway, tyres are free, so may as well try it out, my aim is increase the height of the front- it is seriously low.. and compliance.
anyway, the SRiT is with my future father in law for about a week, he has crashed his RAV4 and is borrowing my car while his is in for repairs.
he can't drive a Rav4 properly. I don't think my lowered Astra stands a chance of him not scraping the front bar... though we have warned it is very low and to use the 'expensive' petrol..
I'd rather him damage the astra than the GTI. Gee sounds like I don't care about the astra
