I have mine hooked up with my interior light, so it comes on when i unlock the car and turn off when the light dims out.Originally Posted by Ice

Just splice off the negative only on the door sensor and use own voltage source should still work I'd imagine

yeh thats true, but i like that i can light her up from a distance !
i dont think that will work brent, tried it with mine but with my led strip like ice said its not so simple with the can bus... i tried all sorts of wiring combinations and diodes but still no go
