    Clutch replacement cost

    Anyone get one replaced recently?

Was it expensive? Would you recommend getting screwed by Holden or go to a smaller cheaper garage?

    Thanks

I think the general consensus is to buy it overseas and get a local garage to install it. I can't give you a figure on what Holden are asking, but the minimum we could supply an aftermarket Exedy one would be $1001. Holden will be more expensive, overseas will be alot cheaper...

Also keep in mind that Astra clutch kits will be more expensive than alot of others as they also include the concentric slave cylinder...

Yep, price up what you can do. Even at $1001, where making bugger all on it, and scale back our markup on clutches anyway (ie. we don't make alot more on a $1000 clutch, as we do on a $300 clutch), so if someone else is on a better buy price with exedy and can do it cheaper, certainly no chip off my shoulder, go for it!

The only thing I would ask, if that if someone can beat that price, let me know, because a. I can say to exedy "WTF?" and try and work something out, and b. even at cost price, there's alot of benefit in us selling it with regards to business cash flow...

    1103 + freight.
    thats for part no. GMK-7450.
which is the one that includes the concentric slave cylinder assembly.

there is a slightly cheaper one that doesnt have the slave cylinder.

yep, that's the same number I went off. But I didn't even notice the number without the slave... Click here to enlarge

Minus the concentric slave cylinder the kit is $669, so it might be worth seeing if you can buy the CSC overseas alot cheaper than what exedy mark up the kit for...
