Welcome mate!
mk, well, I have just bought my first Astra, a 2001 1.8 manual CD, cruise, power windows, all pretty standard, will be running a K&N air filter, when it arrives, and got some new new leather boots coming for the gear stick and the hand brake as the gear stick one is worn out and torn. Not looking to do any major mods to it actually coz I originally bought it for the economy, and I kinda liked the shape, have some Narva Arctic Blue globes also on the way as I drive a bit at night.
Looks pretty much like every other dark blue Astra hatch around, with the exception that this is mine
Got sick of wasting money on toys, ie; 4wd's, bns utes, anyways, will be looking here plenty for advice and other ppl's idea's and custom work, just incase I get in the mood to modify it.
So far I've been impressed, I run BP ultimate fuel and last tank I got 685 k's to the tank and took 50 litres to refill.
almost due for the 180 k service unfortunately and after that I think I'll consider buying some NGK iridium plugs.
Look forward to reading up on everything on the forums, and chattin to fellow Astra owners about like problems and of course joys!!
Cheers

Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.
This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....
