    Why would you put an old jap engine in a classic yank muscle car?

    Sure a nice crate motor from GM (lets say the 7L v8) would be far better suited, smaller and lighter. The rest of the restoration completely f*cks any originality value.

    Hmm... the 2JZGE is lighter than I thought (400lbs)...
    I know for reference, that a new LS7(C6 Z06 motor) is right at 444lbs with flywheel and clutch and mostly dressed
    Good to hear that the car is actually light weight, I thought it was up around 3500lbs for some odd reason.
