LOL about the fuel burn, drive your SRiT or any other typical turbo 4 pot flat to the floor all the time and it'll be at or over 20ltrs/100km
Thing is it'll never give you quite the same power or thrill
I'd say that clubbie above would be used by people as a weekend bruiser, not so much DD and I don't think a V8 diehard or enthusiast is concerned about the fuel burn too much anyway...when you look at it in a comparative or specific sense an average fuel burn or in this case a spirited driving fuel burn of 22ltrs/100km returning 470kw and 770nm of power and torque ain't too shabby after all
My rides: 2004 Opel/Bertone TS Astra turbo convertible - 2012 Mercedes Benz C204 C Class coupe

very nice.
i drove a new VE SSV and loved it. was only taking from our workshop back to the holden dealer but the sound was great.

2005 MG ZR 160
because it can't stop!!!!
Yeah walkinshaw has been doing s/c kits for quite a while now, know a few people who work there, and i loved how they got to test the cars, basically screw as much power out the car as possible until stuff starts to break and then tune it down to a safe level!!!
Lets just say these things hold up well till things start going pop!!

Ex's: 2001 Astra CD & 2001 Astra SRi 2.2, plus a long list of non Opels...
Australian Top Gear Season 2 tested it (they were the ones that found it slower than a stock Clubby on 22" low profiles around a track), but faster with the 20" rims.
Still whilst it has a lot of power, I wonder does it go around corners like a boat, or actually handle pretty sharply.
The article doesnt speak much about the handling, which in all honesty is far more important than how fast it goes in a straight line.
Holden Astra - Opel in disguise.
Speaking of sounds and V8's...
I had the rare opportunity of a new Camaro SS (6.2L V8 boys), a Calais V V8 (6.0L) and a current E60 M5 in the same week.
I must say, the plain ol 6.0L V8 is an awesome engine.. that has a whole heap of power...People that bag it, IMO, just havent really driven it
the 6.2L DOD V8 is even a better monster. what a beautiful sound that thing makes, and quite economical considering its size and power.
The V10 of the M5 is another monster all together. Fuel consumption there was also around the 21L/100km on test, and it was completely different to the other 2.
which one did I want? the 6.2L.
which one did I appreciate the most? the V10. Aurally, it was too refined.. even with its twin remus exhaust (modified vehicle), it didnt have the gut wrenching business sound of the 6.2L. sure it was still a tad lumpy, but it was too smooth to excite me for a quick fang around town. Sure, a brilliant piece of kit, and could very easily have one as a daily drive (probably the easiest one to live with), without fear of being poked and singled out (such a subtle monster)...but..An excellent car though, Nice to see what 241K+orc gets you...
More opportunities have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision.
