I'm using a Cannon EOS1000d, i bought the twin lens kit so just got the standard EFS 18-55mm and the the EF 75-300mm telephoto.
Mat has the same lenses, but with a EOS400d.
On the day, i was using both, which was a bit annoying had to keep changeing for the closeups.
The best thing i've found is to shoot at the lowest ISO possible, i shot all of mine on 200.

mostly playing with levels.. well.. auto levels most of the time unless im not happy with the result.

Yeah, i mostly play with levels etc as well, haven't touched any of my airshow pics though, felt they came our pretty well.
