My 400D has bulb feature, meaning you can have the shutter open for as long as you want.

kk yeah the ones i was lookin at said 1/3200 - 15, bulb...
didnt know what the bulb meant.
are the basic canon ones alright?

What's good about the Canon's, all Canon's, is they use the same imaging processor, right up to the top level shit, so you're always getting a good camera.

k mate might look into a canon, theres a reconditioned dslr on there for about 480. think its the second from base model

just be careful when buyin second hand slr's
they have a shutter life, cant remember the techincal term for it

Ok i also want a new camera cos my Cybershot refuses to stay on after a few days of rain in QLD (lasted a good 6 years, and got a heck of alot of use and thrashing, if you can thrash a camera...)

However, i'm not really all professional with my pics (that's why i got fellow Vic pro pohotgrapher members) so kinda want a cheapish camera maybe $400 max!!

I also need a new phone and my old phone took decent pics, should i go all out and get a good phone with a good camera, or just get seperate phone and camera??

They might have the same processor but the size changes.
Top end are full frame but I'm not sure where it stops.
