sigma 50-500 on a 20D. Nah, cbf with them, they are a little picky sometimes over the shots and i just cant be bothered jumping though all the hoops they have.

For the price? exceptional. It is a bit soft at the extreme end, but for 500mm, your options are fairly thin anyway, and without going for a huge heavy expensive prime

Its probably the best airshow lens around that dosnt cost close to 5 figures, and even if you had the cash for a 500mm prime, you'll need a shorter one on another body for some of the displays.

I'm toying with replacing it with the canon 100-400, but even this would need a teleconverter to get the range.

    Thanks for the review.
The reviews I've read online seem to all give this lens the thumbs up.
I'm also contemplating getting either the sigma or nikons 80-400mm. They're in the same price bracket so we'll see. Will come in handy at next yrs Aussie open. My 18-200mm just doesn't get close enough. The crappy thing is ur restricted to 200mm focal length. Will have to sneak it in!!
