Writeup: QFM A1RM Brake Pads from GSLRALLYSPORT

Well I've just got back from Oz where I spent 2000km's driving on a new set of A1RM pads from gslrallysport.

These are an excellent road-track day pad and a good compromise for those that want one pad to everything!!! Much cheaper then Endless, ProjectMu, SBS, Ferodo etc and as good or better...

IMHO these are excellent, very cheap (mine were about $120 for the fronts IIRC) and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

If you want a new set of sport pads and can live with a little noise on light braking, then these are the pad to get...

Ive got QFM pads on mine and they are of excellent quality. Very similar characteristics to the OE pads. Although mine are not the performance pads, the ones i got have MUCH MUCH less dust than the stock pads.

Think i paid 130 for front and back delivered.

do you mean bendix ultimate? I'd be interested in hearing this as well as I've got the ultimates on the fronts.

everyone says that, but ive had the bendix on for over 10000 km's and the discs have not developed any kind of lip on them - from the way everyone talks about the bendix, it was as if my rotors would have been chewed up after 1000 k's!!!

i've never had a problem with bendix chewing up rotors, but don't forget that euro cars tend of have softer rotors than jap cars.

The rotors Subaru put on WRX's (the 05's anyway) are crap too - went through a set in 30K - have now got RDA slotted rotors and they are basically new still (30K+ on them now)

The A1RM is MILES ahead of the Ultimate in terms of performance, and still with less rotor wear and dust. QFM's equivalent to the Ultimate is the HPX pad, which is a fair bit lower than the A1RM in terms of performance but is virtually dust, rotor wear and noise free.

In season 2008 we went through two complete sets of A1RM front pads in the rally car, didn't machine the rotors with the second set, and still had no lip on the rotor that you could feel.

For full specs etc. checkout http://www.qfmperformance.com

But basically the the A1RM is the street track pad. Easily as good in performance as something like an EBC Red or Ferodo DS2500, but alot friendlier for the street. I run them in both the rally car, and my daily/tow car (Cross 6 One Tonne Ute), and the A1RM isn't a compromise in either application, except a small amount of fine dust.

Anyone who's happy with Bendix Ultimate type performance, then the HPX will be more than enough, whilst being virtually dust free.

The HPX is $79 per set front or rear, and the A1RM is $119 per set front or rear. We do currently have a half price rears deal, but before everyone jumps in, we're currently out of stock of rears in both compounds for 5 stud Astras. As far as fronts go, we've got a bit of both compound on the shelf. Anyone who wants to take us up on the half price rears deal, can get in now, fix up the invoice, I'll send the fronts out straight away, then post the rears out at no additional freight charge when they arrive.

Other cars just let me know and I can let you know availability! Any other questions just let me know!

    Cheers,
    Greg

Na, $79 per set front OR rear. So with the half price rears deal front and rear HPX is $131 delivered, and front and rear A1RM is $191 delivered.

Hehehe - I know Greg you were trying to talk me into getting the HPX pads - only reason I didnt was because after a certain track day (shut up all Victorian Members) - I had worn the brakes down to nothing and needed them replaced immediately - so couldnt wait to get them down from QLD - as the car was pretty much undriveable!
