thought this weeks one was much better than last week. i find in some episodes they dont talk too much about the car - like last week with the 3 four wheel drives. i know they dont use a lot of techinical talk but could do with more about the cars they are driving. i think it has started if well, but still makes me long for the uk version.
Did anyone spot the talking on a hand held CB whilst driving in the Golf comparo. And letting air out of the tyres for freeway driving? Safety concerns?
I've only seen the first and the last eps and both made me cringe. Who comares a lambo to a Kelvinator??
Perhaps if they created a totally new program with no affiliation to Top Gear UK I might have enjoyed it a little more. This setup begs to be judged vs a far superior and entertaining parent show.
A man with odd circumstance.. A victim of ghetto demands..
Are you sure?
Just doing some research now and found this off a legal advice site:
"Recent changes to the laws in Queensland effect the use of mobile telephones. The driver of a vehicle is not able to use a hand-held mobile telephone while the vehicle is moving, or whilst the vehicle is stationary, but not parked. However, this does not apply to a “hands-free” mobile phone, a CB radio, or any other two-way radio. The maximum fine for using a mobile telephone whilst driving is $1,500.00. "
I know that is for QLD, but i'll do some more research
EDIT:
According to the Roads and Traffic Authority (NSW), CB and two-way radios are not banned for drivers:
300 Use of hand-held mobile phones
(1) The driver of a vehicle (except an emergency vehicle or police vehicle) must not use a hand-held mobile phone while the vehicle is moving, or is stationary but not parked, unless the driver is exempt from this rule under another law of this jurisdiction.
Offence provision.
Note Emergency vehicle, park and police vehicle are defined in the dictionary.
(2) In this rule:
mobile phone does not include a CB radio or any other
two-way radio.
From: Australian Road Rules, RTA, NSW
And the article i got that from is actually talking about TG:Aus lol, http://www.tomw.net.au/blog/2008/09/...use-while.html for more info

i really liked it wen old matey was driving the GTR, its wasnt scripted line reading like in the studio.
