Help needed - CV joint info

The passenger side inboard CV joint on my Astra G (Z20LET) has gone after a decent run of 120,000km.

Unfortunaetely, I am having problems getting a part# or any info for this later model. Most of the aftermarket guys here in Melbourne dont even have a listing for Astra's younger than 1998.

Can anyone tell me a part number or what other earlier models share the same CV joints? Do all Astra G models have the same CV joints or is the Z20LET special?

    Thanks for your help,
    Jamie

    hey Jamie
you will prob have issues trying to source CV joints after market thats just the way it seems to be with the opel parts

I do realize thou that you are trying to get the best price possible. If you give these guys a buzz autovaux they will be able to help you out at a price that will be better than you would have got from Repco or coventrys

Thanks guys. Do you know any places that rebuild CVs in Melbourne?

Repco, Autopro, Auto Barn all say they dont list them.

Holden will gladly shaft me a complete CV shaft for $1045 Click here to enlarge

Being formerly in the CV/Driveshaft Business, I have few places to refer you too.

    The CV Centre
    Bennett St Dandenong

    M+S Driveshafts
    Sunshine Rd Sunshine West
    (Near Ring Road On Ramp)

    Universal Driveshaft Services
    Gracie St North Melbourne
(Next Door to Lost Dogs Home)

    Driveline Services
    4/15 Burgess Rd Bayswater Nth

That pretty much cover each area of Melb.
You can buy Non OE CV Joints for Opels, they have to be Cross Referenced from another Make/Model.

    Thanks for the answers,

Before I checked Opelaus this morning I took the CV shaft to Driveline services in Bayswater (it is near my work). They couldnt find anything to cross-reference it to, but Trent was very helpful and phoned the CV Center in Dandenong. They also couldnt find a reference for it, but I am going to take the shaft around to them this afternoon to see what they can do.

What a PITA for a CV joint! I will pray for all the other SRi CV joints out there... Thanks for your help and will report back what happens.

Dallas @ CV Centre should be able to help you out, As all he does is CV's.
I thought I'd send ya to Driveline as I used to work there & they'd point ya in the right direction.
