Please bornwild....you seriously need to do some homework..

The 2.5L turbo engine in the focus and volvo is 100% VOLVO...its a B5254T3 engine <look it up>.

Its the lastest engine developed by Volvo since the debut of the engine in the 850 back in 1993. So...tell me a ford that was using a I5 turbo back in 1990 - 2000's

    Didnt think so......

They also have a non turbo engine exactly the same.. B5254S

Thanks again bornwild...you have proven you know nothing about Ford, Mazda or Volvo...stick to OPELS.

    Cheers

I don't need to look it up...the engine is manufactured by Ford mate. May well have been developed by Volvo. Manufacturing is done by Ford, however. Click here to enlarge

ps. here we go, confirms what I was saying

I know because my old man went to a Ford engine plant in the UK and told me they made the T5 there for the Focus ST.

pps. you should know by now that nothing is as obvious as it seems, ey? Click here to enlarge oh and thanks for your kind words, resorting to personal insults again...hmmm

Yep confirms exactly what you said...The engine is Volvo..developed and manufactured by Volvo (a car company owned by Ford).

Since we are using wikipedia as a basis of facts...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratec_engine

The 2.5L I5 Turbo you call ford...is a duratec...hmmmm i dont see any duratec engine that ford makes in I5 ....could it be Volvo.

In Europe, all Ford gasoline engines are called Duratec...whether made by ford or not...becoz all the other Duratec engines in ford are Mazda made MZR engines...

Your fun....ill leave you with it....

I'm not sure that Volvo is owned by Ford, I think that there is only a business relationship; quite a strong one at that but I don't think that Ford has direct ownership over them; again not sure on that point.

And what?...Duratec are a completely different family of engines...so I really don't know what you're aiming at with that piece of information.

And yeah, hehe Click here to enlarge the wikipedia 'reference' was lame, I agree; but my googling skills limited me to using it since it was the only web-site supporting what I had known Click here to enlarge

ps. and a question for you; what specs is the 2.5l engine from the mazda6?

Here is a pic of the I5 2.5L turbo engine in the XR5 Focus and XR5 Mondeo.

    NEWSFLASH:

The heart of the XR5 comes from a company not generally associated with high-performance motoring: Volvo. But times are changing and the Ford-owned Swedish maker's five-cylinder engine is an excellent starting point for a compact fast car. Turbocharged in the XR5, the 2.5-litre engine makes 166kW, which is 5kW more than the 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine of the first XR6 Falcon back in 1991.

    XR5 Turbo

The only LS Focus for sale in Oz built in Saarlouis, Germany, where the LR Focus was built, the XR5 Turbo is a rebadged Focus ST from Europe. In fact, the cars still have the ST badging on their engines. The XR5 Turbo rapidly hit cult car status in Australia, being the only turbocharged small Ford that has been on sale since the KH Laser TX3. The 2.5L inline 5 cylinder turbo engine is a Volvo design and built, and available only mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. A unique bodykit, massive alloy wheels, and strong colours means the XR5T stands out in a crowd. Very expensive and with a large waiting list, the XR5T is the flagship LS Focus.
Engine: 2.5L Duratec 20V turbocharged intercooled
    Power / Torque: 166kW / 320Nm
    Fuel Consumption combined: 9.3L
Transmission: 6 speed close ratio manual
    Turning Circle: 11.7m
    Weight: 1442kg
