F1 will be there in 2012. V8's are there in 2013.
Don't be thinking the road will be cut into the ground that far though....that's just how much gravel they have to put beneath a race track to keep it from deteriorating quickly. if you put the lateral forces of a race car over a normal road here in oz, it would be cracking/warping/breaking-up after a day.
