Well the report does state that it may be just pure speculation...
I wonder if it would be better in the hands of the VAG group if that were to happen ??
Certainly wouldn't hurt the powertrain replacement options :p
On a more serious note, if it did come down to either going to China or the VAG group I think I know who'd I'd prefer :skep:
i agree.. china would be much better :p
im partially serious about china being better but :p i mean yes VAG have a good "prestige" about them.... but i wouldnt go so far to say theyre worth the money they like to think their worth. Also the opel range is starting to look cool! If it goes to VAG the astra will just end up being a golf, boring to look at and spartan as all hell
Kind of agree with the probable VAG result, they would most certainly 'put it down' to make sure the VW branded stuff stays on top...
The new Opel range coming soon are most probably better or at least as good as their direct VW competitor.
Going to China would surely raise the automotive standards over there... :)
+1 - all Skoda models are getting de-specced because their value for money is outstripping the equivalent VW models, so VAG deliberately pushing down the brand. If they ever bought Opel it would probably be pushed below even that (maybe equivalent to what Seat is in Europe). China would be a better option.
