I actually just found a loose plug and two loose hoses near the throttle body. Are these hoses to just attach to one another?
Hey mate welcome along! Where abouts in Adelaide are you?
Do you have a picture of the hoses? There are quite a few that ran behind the engine bay so a picture of them would help narrow them down.

I've put the hoses down to missing a one way valve between them but I am still unable to find where this plug goes
If the plug is up on the firewall behind the throttle body it'd be a connector for a different engine.

It sounds exactly as you describe it. I was tearing my hair out looking. So seems I need a part number for this valve then
Yeah the astras tend to share a loom across the majority of their models cheaper to have one loom with everything than having several looms for a particular set up.
Not sure how much brand new ones are but I know some people have used aquarium valves with some success

Can only get the valve as a genuine Holden part and they were asking $308 for it :S It mustve been the wrong part. Well for now I just have them blocked off to stop the leaking until I find another part or solution. Honestly it feels better as it is but I don't know how good it is for the engine
