And I think the problem with my egr is it gets stuck open so the engine with randomly missfire and chug and carry on. Checked the spark plugs and all but cylinder 3 looked like normal wear slightly on the lean side (normal for factory engines to run slightly lean for fuel consumption. Cylinder three though was very very lean.
I have since changed them and while most of the pinging stopped, the missfire and chugging are still there
