Does anyone have any recommendations for polish/wax.... I have always been an "old skool" meguiar's fanatic but jsut wondering what else is out there that is good.
A couple of boys at work rave about the new turtle ICE, but I haven't tried it yet

not fan of turtle products myself, love megs for everyday stuff. but autoglym deep black polish has been very good followed by high def wax

The turtle wax ice paste is awesome - gives a good gloss - smells like bubblegum too :)
Megs NXT 2.0 is still my fave wax.
ive used to turtle wax ice liquid polish on my car. to be honest i thought it was gonna be a dud. but it gives a mad shine. i use it once every 4 weeks. and i park my car outside. its easy to use, can be applied in sun light or shade. personally i like to apply in shade cause i can see where ive missed. but yeh give it a try. i have the liquid clay bar system but i havent had time to try it yet. well see how that goes though
Megs or Autoglym.
Failing that there are plenty of high end polishes if your wallet is deep !
I found zymol wax to be the best but it's alot of work because you have to polish the car with HD Cleanse first then with the wax.
Most of the time I'm to lazy to do that and just use the meg's NXT but the finish is not as good as the zymol
Thanks for the feedback guys.
How many of you still do it by hand vs buffer ? I have seen some really nasty buff jobs before which has always made me hesitant to try one on my cars...especially a black one.
i do by hand
i have both. but i prefer hand. i guess it comes down to preference. ive seen a professional use a buffer on an xy gt and get amazing results. i use my hand because it feels like thorough job and that im not missing any spots.
I use megs polish then poor boys selant then autoglym HD wax to finish it off... the result is amazing
For an extra hard-working day, i use turtle wax liquid claybar to clean up the body during wash, then machine-buff with Megs NXT2.0 for big panels like the bonnet, roof and doors. Then hand polish to go through what the buffer didn't cover.
I apply MEG NXT2.0 on my bonnet and roof every 2 weeks after wash, just to give that extra gloss and 'hydrophobic' layer as the bottle claims hahaha
Meguires is fantastic stuff for the money, I use and reccomend the Gold Class range...
If you want the best stuff on the market and don't mind spending the money for it, get yourself product from the Zaino range, after trying just about everything under the sun over the last 25 years, even professional stuff pro detailers use in my honest and unbiased opinion Zaino's the best, but as said it'll cost ya...
Went down to my local Auto One yesterday, they didn't stock Turtle ICE and had loads of Mothers, Megs and Autoglym but I stuck with what I know and left with Megs.
Fkme the Autoglym wax kit is not cheap....
Cheers for all the feedback guys

depends on what wax u get.. the high def one is ussually $250, bought myn for $170.. and it is friggen fantastic stuff but not worth the $$$

Ice. Love the fact you can apply it to the black plastic bits and it doesnt matter.
