Hey all...
I have just been speaking to Turblue (Wayne) about having a section for the VXR . for now we have a Sticky thread that is for all things VXR.
Post all VXR comments in here.
Cheers
Shaun
i just want one :p
oh what a feeling..
feel free to delete this post..
i think we all just want to see them here...
im sick of hearing about all the maybes...
They are coming . They should be here no later then 3rd Qtr according to HSV. I will hopefully have one before the years out if not in the new year.
i seen a t shirt the other day that HSV i just beat one thoguht i might make a few up and sell them on the Golf GTi, Ford XR5 and Mazda MP23S forums what you guys think will they sell?
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
hehehehehe
i also heard somewhere 3rd quarter shaun, and shaun u will have too take me for a drive in it when you get it.
what colours you all thinking about getting? i like the blue ones.
SSS_Hoon
i have my name against a blue one :D
For sure. Providing all goses to plan and i dont have a Huge Credit card Debit when i come home and its all cleared i should have one before the end of the year. if not early 2007 then.
It is possible that HSV will offer the Milltek performance exhaust as an option, as Vauxhall offer it in the UK.
i have been informed by the VXR Brands Manager here in the UK that they will be sending a milltek across for HSV to trial, just on the exhaust note itself it is well worth it
That sounds promising.
Walkinshaw Performance Centre tell me that there will be upgrades for the VXR.
and hopefully they will bolt onto the z20let too :D
(ok guys go back to drooling about the new one )
:( pitty the corsa d aint comming to aus, i would have loved the corsa vxr.
I wish to inform all people of Opel AUS that the HSV VXR's are now showing up in our Dealer Order stock list.
I have spoken to HSV who say the cars will arrive first week of September.
Our dealership has purchased the numberplate: HSV VXR :D
i was on another forum and a member said that he spotted a VXR on the back of a tilt tray.
SSS_Hoon
that is possible, because next months wheels magazine has a review of it
he said he saw it with a XR5... so maybe that was it.
SSS_Hoon
*waiting for next months wheels mag*
it was spotted in brisbane somewhere though is that where wheels test?
SSS_Hoon
Good point, they usually test in Vic or NSW at places like DECA in Shepperton.Quote:

I will be sending an E Mail to HSV to see if infact there is a VXR in Oz and if possible if we can get the car to our dealership or to somewhere where we can arrange a preview and possible drive of it for Opel Aus members interested in purchasing.
No dealer yet has one, i have been told that the cars will arrive in Oz first week of September. It will then depend on whether HSV do any local modifications to the cars before they hit showroom, as to when you see the cars in Showrooms.
I'm still interested in hearing what sort of things OpelAus members would like to be part of the package that i'm putting together for members wishing to purchase a VXR.
Please PM me with suggestion. Please be reasonable with them however, as these vechile will be in very short supply please don't be expecting huge discounts, however we would like to work out a package with MAYBE a small discount and POSSIBLY a few extra's that all interested parties can agree on eg Tint, Mats ect ect.
As soon as i have any more information i will let you all know :D
Just a few suggesstions continuing on from yours...
Tints
Mats
Slimline Number Plates and covers (Not sure if NSW has slimlines)
Metallic paint at no extra cost
these all sound reasonable and do-able
any other suggestions?
Theres a Ford Focus XR5 on the Hume Hwy, at the ford dealership near chullora, (the hot orange colour mind you) my opinion, looks ugly compared to the VXR,
anyone know what the VXR weighs in UK trim?
Ok guys i can give you the score on the VXR now after spending all day in one yesterday. I was lucky enough to arrange a meet with Aussie_in_London yesterday and some of the crew on Astra-sri.co.uk . WOW .. The car is awesome.. Forget the the Clarkson "Understeer" issue. Shane was driving one handed through roundabouts and changing gear and the car did not struggle with grip one bit.
Damian i have to say this... The Golf GTi with DSG is going to be no match for the VXR...
Even in standard trim the VXR has plenty of straight line speed and handles extremely well...
This will not disapoint. I was thinking about the XR5 Focus but i have made my mind up. VXR all the way... If you would like some more info about my ride in the VXR PM and i will be happy to share it with you...
Cheers
Shaun
Just been on HSV web site.. I have noticed that the specs of the VXR no longer exist on the site. Im guessing that the Offical Specs wont be to far away and a lauch date would be fairly close.
I Cant wait to see on on our roads with HSV Badging.
I thought I read some where that they were waiting for the mazda 3 mps to come out so they can do comparison between all the hot hatchesQuote:

pm sent shaun.
so were you in a stock one also or just modified ones, just wondering if you based your decision on a modified one only were those mods might be out of reach over here is all?
will the aussie version have the overheating problem fixed at all?
and i have no doubt tha the VXR will outgun the GTi if it didnt then i would be very concerned that is for sure.

Some pictures from my recent trip to the UK of some VXR's. Please take note of the Interior shots to for those calling the cars interior a " Boy Racer" interior.

*flame suit on * The interior looks a bit ordinary. Too plasticy. Is sat nav standard.
your not the only one that thinks that.Quote:

but the centre bit with all the plastic silver stuff i dont like that bit.
how hard is it too see out the back window while driving or reversing for that matter?
SSS_Hoon
interior doesn't look any different from standard astra, which is far from plasticky
only real difference is the seats
