funny u say that... my UPS went BZZZRRRZZZ earlier when the lights flickered, luckily everything was ok

I guess all the computers in here are Desktops...but this is my computer...

My PC desk at home. Using a Thinkpad R60 at the moment, waiting for M$ to release Win7 next month to build my freaking Core i7 monster :)
Cables not too neat under the desk but not much use to spend time now before tower goes down there. Mounting the screen on the wall increased my desk real estate so much!
diesel I really like your setup...especially the wall mounted lcd...never though of doing that...where did you get the wall mounts for the lcd from??
I might steal your idea if you don't mind :-)
my POS setup that crashed while i was trying to upload these pics to photobucket.
looks like i'll have to fast forward my phenom II build.

You need a dedicated Recording interface to use Pro Tools...if you look at my pic on the bottom right you'll see a small blue box (M-Box 2 Mini), you need that to use Pro Tools...
Pro Tools
well i started my new build today. and will add bits and pieces as i go along.
today i picked up:
AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition
Gigabyte 790XT-UD4P
G.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333mhz
G.Skill Falcon 64GB SSD.
and the quadro fx 1400 i had lying around doesnt work... so now i need to get a new graphics card tomorrow. not sure which one yet. next on the list will be a few 1tb HDD's to run in Raid 1. and a new case and psu. thinking Thermaltake Spedo advance, and probably Antec TPQ 1000.
ebay, $33.00 delivered within 24h from uglycable.com.au
it was a breeze to install using 4 of those plastic anchors that self tap into gyp-rock. Since each of them is rated 10kg and the monitor weights about 5kg, there's not much chance it will fall off :)
Go ahead, do it, these screens are made to be installed on the wall. The bloody leg that came with it was wobbly, too low and always managed to annoy me, but now that's all sorted.
well spose i should blend in with my own kind over here (nerds area):p

My desk in action, having a chat on Skype with my parents who are in Europe, about 18,000km away :)
Just noticed myself, a lot of Logitech gear in that shot: Keyboard and mouse combo MX 5500, Quickcam Pro 9000 webcam and the USB sound hub. Decent stuff at reasonable price IMHO.

I'm thinking you thought that because of the screens? Nah, I edit a lot of video, record audio and I do alot of design so the screens do help with different things like having heaps of windows open at the same time without having to be under another window or having one screen with just main video playback etc.
random youtube videos about microwaves more like it
heh, just checked the specs I posted 2 years ago... still using that machine...
will last for a while yet... the video card would be a nice upgrade tho
