I still giggle when she makes those kind of noises

If you're sick of sump plugs you could always get one of those Fumoto tap plugs? I know a few guys have used them before and loved them. Overtight wheel nuts will be monkeys just using rattle guns on the wheels at the shop.

Hmm interesting, I have never seen one of those. I don't mind a sump plug normally if it isn't over-torqued to strip spec.
As far as the wheel nuts, yeah they were definitely done with air tools set too high, the rust making the wheel seize on was a bit of a concern though.
rust on the hubs is common. just sand them down and put some anti seize grease where it was rusty. won't happen again.
Yeah I'll definitely be grabbing some stuff. I think the reason it rusted in the first place was because the holden badges have been removed from the center caps, but the clip holes are all still there. So when the car was getting washed or rained on water would get trapped in there and sit. When I pried them out there was some water sitting in them from the rain 2 days before.

Yeah, I've already sanded the rust out and I just used some WD40 that I had on hand as a temporary solution, but I will be getting some proper grease.
What's worse, is when the morons use a rattle gun to do up lock nuts. This happened before I bought the SRi and I couldn't get the back wheels off (ended up stripping the keyways on the bolts) and had to fork out $130 to get a guy to come around and remove the bastard things.
Oh man, that's one of my big concerns. Once I get the new rims for the Astra I should really put some lock nuts on, but I have never seen a locknut I was really confident in as far as not being a tire change away from stripping. I guess if you are the only one touching them they are ok.
I live in a suburb of Adelaide that probably has one of the worst reputations going around (Davoren Park, near Elizabeth aka SA's home of the bogan) and I don't fear someone pinching my wheels. Probably because most don't crap where they eat and secondly, they're not Commodore rims.
