I just signed up the other day. Got heaps of questions for you all. So I may aswell start straight away.
Just bought a xc 2004 Barina. Didn't really know what was good then but now I am a bit more familiar I think I shoulda got an SRI. Bought the xc cause I like the chrome front grill. haha. Stupid me. Ayway got windows tinted twice (first time they didn't do it properly and it bubbled straight away!) They told me the tint I got was darkest llegal but I have seeb cars way darker. Can you have darker tint on the back windows compared to the front?
Also am going to rebadge soon as I know how to. I don't really wanna be pulling of the holden and barina badges incase I scratch the paint. And also I have no idea how they are even attached so if anyone can gimme some pointers on that, would be appreciated.
Hopefully in nov. I will be getting altezza tail light. I have to wait till then cause I am going away in sept. and been saving for that. Being a uni student it hard to save, study and have a part time job with a car and laptop loan that i'm paying off so saving for stuff takes a while!
Anyway after that I am gonna get some chrome mags. Haven't seen any I have fallen in love with all I know is they gotta be chrome!
Ok well I think I have talked too much. Lemme know any tips or suggestion. All appreciated.

welcome to the site..

debadging is simple and can be in a matter of minutes.. fishing wire or dental floss is prolly the best thing to use.. just slide it behind the badge removed it in a sawing motion.. there might be plugs behind certain badges so if you get stuck do the same thing from the bottom of the badge..

I have seen a few (many 1 or 2) cars with opel decals, but my bf actually signed me up to this site. I don't really know much about cars, thats why I dont like forums cause I dont know what to say. lol.

Yup your rear windows are able to be darker than your front windows. I'm not sure of the exact percentage difference. Someone on here may though :)

NSW....should be able to make them black... as long as the windscreen is clear except for tint band and fron passenger windows are at or above 35% transmissittance.

i used to go to school in gawler (xavier) still got a few friends down there too!

rear badge has holes behind it but the opel badge covers it, i got mine filled and smoothed at the painters. the front badge is a bit harder. you need one thats the same size, the other one is clipped in to a big plastic mould thingy that pushes out through the grille! if u get stuck i can detail it more!

they are actually doing a group buy on badges at the moment in the for sale section so if u want them, you will get them cheaper!

i got the chrome lights so they suit the mags and other chrome bits i have. but black doesnt stand out as much but still look so much better than the stockies!

I think I like the black altezza tail lights better. If I'm going to spend a grand or two on some nice chromies, I would want them to stand out rather than the $300 tail lights....

Hey all,
I got a quote today on getting my car colour coded. I almost had a heart attack. The quote was for colour code and to have my rear holden badge taken off and the holes filled. So the price they gave me was $1,700... Does this sound normal or a bit high. I thought it might be around $400-$500 but not $1,700....

the main cost is the filling of the holes as the whole rear panel needs to be painted!
