View Full Version : Good news for Royal Nat. Park run (Sydney)

Hey Guys,

Just thought some people might be interested...

I just had a run (when I say run...I mean drive!) through the Royal Nat. park today, and for the first part, I was complaining about the crapy road surface, and the fact that they will probably never be bothered to properly resurface it again.

Well...I was wrong!!! Much to my delight, a little furthur into the drive, I drove onto a rough section that looked as if it was in the process of being resurfaced, and then onto a section that has already been finished. It was awsome! Grip was AMAZING and very smooth! Hopefully they will resurface all the way back to Audley, and then it won't be a good drive...it will be a GREAT drive!

Looking forward to driving it again soon!

I propose a natio run when the road is finished... :D

I used to fang it through there in the lancer... and i always thought I was gonna roll the car... mightve just been the lancer's suspension tho :D haha

Well, as soon as it is reserfaced more...I will let you all know! I drive through it once every couple of weeks (just for fun), so I'll keep you all posted.

And yer, you only have to pay if you are parking your car inside the park...which I never do. If you are just going through it is free!!!

I think that i am signed up to that part of the site, but i'm not sure...i'm logged in, but i can't see any threads/topics to go into...assuming that the site isn't brand new.

I'm just clicking on the 'New South Wales Forum' link up the top left of this page.

If we want to get a good run through the park, it will need to be either early morning, or late arvo/early evening.

Sunday during the day (as we all found out last time we ran through there) is terrible for traffic!

oneightoo
31st August 2006, 11:53 AM
night time run or a dawn raid..

SRi_Jimbo

I'm deciding to stay with 17's as well...with the height of my car i think that i would miss cornering fast without scrubbing the guards hehe

I'm definitely up for it that weekend!! My car should be together by then as well with my new intake, exhaust, and hopefully my wheels will be in the country by then :)

MAKE WAY FOR THE OPEL INVASION!!

SRi_Jimbo
31st August 2006, 12:35 PM
I need to get around to take some pics for you guys...

I'm running the astra turbo 17's and the guards are at the top of the tyres. So i reckon that it dropped about 30mm's roughly

SRi_Jimbo
31st August 2006, 12:45 PM
actually, here is an interesting pic for you....i only took it with my phone. The pic is of the front springs....the black ones are obviously the standard SRi springs and the yellow ones are the super lows...will give you a bit of an idea of what happened.

The rear springs on the other hand...there was a massive difference in size!!

Yup, one of my mates helped me who knows a bit more about the mechanical side than me...so it gave us that extra bit of confidence and we hooked it up in an arvo :)
