Some idiot opened their car door wide enough to make a small dent on my Astra right rear panel. The dent is small but because its there, my eyes can't stop but to keep staring at the dent!!! :(

I'm wondering if there a way to fix it without changing the whole panel? There is no damage to the paint work. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

In the past on other cars i have used a plunger.
If the dent is on a flat pannel it can work.
If not go to a dent join an get it sucked out will cost aprox $100.

on the edge of the car park and take up 2 bays.

Not in the mum zone 10m fom the door u are just asking for trouble there.
And i have a single parking space at work between a wall and a curb

If you can get to the under side of the metal then you could try popping it out yourself. Don't know where it is but you could trying moving some of the trim inside the boot and get to it. My sister had a huge dent on her car and I thought I'd give it a go in a carpark before saying goodbye, 5 minutes and a couple of bleeding knuckles later it was gone. But I'd think yours would be a small and sharp dent so perhaps a hammer would be a good idea, aslong as you support it on the other side.

Yeh definately get it removed by a professional who can do paintless dent removal. Don't attempt it yourself. Usually costs about $80 for 1 dent.
I've heard good things about these guys...

I always park in parallel spots to aviod getting dents in the first place. Or park down in the back corner where there are no cars. ;) Usually means walking further but it keeps me fit. lol

Yeh true, but i'd rather be able to polish off a scuff or touch up the plastic, than to have a dent in the metal.

My Astra got peppered by hailstones nearly two years ago, and I had them all removed by a "Paintless Dent Revoval" professional.

The result was perfect !

Thanx for the input guys... I think I will go with the idea of getting a professional to do the job.

Sometimes you just can't help.. Some car may park right next to you after you left your car or a trolley in a supermarket may also do nasty looking dent... Isn't you all just hate it when people do this to your car? :(

You can't help not getting any dents, chips or scratches. Its a fact of life I guess. My car was spotless up around 30k kms until I came back and found a small trolley dent when I returned to my car. After that luck started to run out. My old man, who sometimes drove the car managed to dent the driver side front wheel arch and then later scratched the same side of the front bumper. Haven't got him to fix it because I know after its fixed the car prolly will get hit elsewhere.

I agree with the others, get a Paintless Dent Remover to caress the dent away...

I had one small dent near the petrol cap removed a few months ago. You cannot see that it was once a dent! Cost me $60. The guy even came to me to do it.

I got his number from one of my local car dealers. (Mazda believe it or not!) They highly recommended him as they've used his services on many an occasion.

It was money well spent.

Yep, as long as the paint has not been broken and the dent is not sharp (which means the metal will have been stretched if sharp) PDR is the go.
