Hello, i'm from NSW in The Hills just outside of Sydney. Moved here from the UK about 2 years ago and not regrettig it! I drive a 2004 Holden Barina SRi
and i love it. Here are some pics.

BTW, whats the deal with the black cam cover? is this a Z18XE or X18XE, or something else??

Long time member of www.corsasport.co.uk if anyone knows it!
Look forward to chatting to some of you.

ps, although im impressed with the performance, are there any tips of tuning? i used to have a Vauxhall Corsa GSi (bubble shape Barina GSi) and the inlet was very restrictive and was easily overcome with some modification. any tips out there? any specialising tuning shops?

Welcome to OpelAus mate! You'll find that it isn't as easy to modify a Barina/Corsa in Australia as in the UK but just search the forums here mate and you will find out some interesting stuff. The 1.8 in the SRi is the same as what is available in Europe, just Holden put their engine cover on it.

Cheers
Mat

excellent, thanks mate. i was hoping it might have been the new Z18XE/DCVCP
, no such luck!!! hopefully getting a nice K&N panel filter
at some point, i reckon it would benefit a touch over the standard paper item.

Yeh, pretty much everyone on here puts in a K&N panel air filter. Oh and by the way love the car! lol

thanks mate. It was a bit of a bargain actually! well under what it should have been realistically, so i snapped it up. only problem is that one of the rear tyres is a 195/50/r16 instead of a 45 profile. oh and one of the fronts is running a bit low. god those Dunlops are sticky, but expensive

thanks guys, might well head on over to the NSW forum and see whats happening with meets!

Opel badges are a maybe at the moment, Holden still feels good for me, since i have grown up around Vauxhall/Opel all my life haha.

not sure on plans yet, maybe lower it a touch, rid of the BARINA badge on the back, then look at getting some stuff from the UK sent over. Irmscher grille would be nice...or even a few choice engine mods.

before you do buy anything from the UK let everyone here know, so we can all save on postage on a group buy or something.

have fun with a new grille on the facelift model!

are you really sure???

the facelift models have the grille connected to the bumper. has to be cut out and the new one has to be stuck in!
