The engine build begins 02/18/04 by picking up the engine from a local junkyard in great running condition.
The very same night as engine pick-up we decided to do the full tear down! Because of the Ecotec's extreme cylinder wall strength and cleanness of cylinder walls after tear down weve decided to simply hoan the cylinders before putting in the 8.8:1 Wiseco pistons. The timing chain setup is as complex as they come. We also noted the use of roller rockers, which is extremely good for high performance engines because of the lower amount of friction on the camshafts.
The engine block has been honed, cold tanked, and coated for a show quality look. The engine is currently awaiting the arrivial of the copper headgasket so O-rining can take place then the Eagle 4340 forged crank and rods, along with wiseco 8.9:1 pistons can be installed.

I'd Remove the Plastic Chain Runners and Put in a Double Row Chain,
Bore out oil Galleries
Seen as Z22SE don't like rev, The Timing Chain to like to Go Bang.
