i know this subject will get interesting and people will say "my mates dads brother went in a fast car once" i dont wanto hear about those ones i wanto hear about ones you have been in. the ones that no matter how hard you try you just cant stop smiling or shaking.

the fastest that ive been in was an ex race porsch that was raced at bathurst many years ago it was sponsord by XMO and you could still see where the stickers had been on it. it had just the front 2 seats no carpet no body deadner no dash besides a tacho it was a full on race car with rego (dont ask me how it was registerd). it had 365 rear tryes and when we pulled out onto a main road near my place at just half throttle this thing was sideways like there was oil on the road and the guy in the wrx we where next to well his face was priceless to say the least. the claimed hp of this thing was around 600hp and i do'nt doubt that for a second. this was about 4 years ago now and i smile every time i think of that ride its something that will always be remeberd. or maybe i smile because he took his son in it after me and when they got back he was as white as casper the ghost and almost throwing up.

I've been in an 11 second mazda RX2 with a heavily worked 13B engine. I nearly crapped myself when the owner put his foot down first time - I had no idea of the cars performance up until that moment. Was one of the biggest adrenaline rushes I've had.

Other fast cars I've been in:
- '02 WRX STi
- Toyota Soarer (worked twin turbo)
- a 12 second VS SS Commodore
- HSVs - Maloo R8, GTO LE coupe, Senator Signature & Grange- all owned by my cousin in the last 5 years. He now has a new bmw 5 series and the maloo for work.
- my old mans CV8 monaro (full exhaust & chipped).

I've driven the STi, Maloo and Monaro.

On the road it would be my Dad's mates VZ Monaro, tuned by Harrop Engineering, absolutely hammers in every gear. It just feels like you keep selecting 1st gear it pulls that well.

Also today I went in a single turbo RX7, now this is quick! I'm not a fan of Mazda's but have to admit this thing was fantastic. Has had around 40k spent on it on top of the cost of purchasing the car, basically a track car driven on the road when needed. Has 250kw at the rear wheels and runs an 11 second 1/4. Unbelievable g forces pinning you into the seat and the sound of the turbo and rotary exhaust note is frighteningly loud but great. According to my mate it's quick but needs to be quicker. lol

And finally on the track, was in a V8 Supercar (VX), about 620bhp and that really was amazing.

By the way was passenger in the RX7 and V8 Supercar but drove the Monaro.

with 210kw @ the wheels I highly doubt he'd be getting those times - the "base" MRT P-25 STi has 297kw @ the wheels and only manages 12s.....

hrmm..fastest been in with a smile?
1. Race spec 550 Maranello
2. My 03 STI with *ahem* "stock as a rock officer".. (heavily modified) (drove that one cos I owned it!)
3. Race prepped R32 with over 600bhp at the wheels

Fastest I have been in and absolutely wanted to get out and walk (crapped my pants)
1. Mazda RX3 with extensively ported engine and massive turbo...and cracks in the chassis/frame due to power

the only one of these capable for day to day driving / living was the STI.. the rest were just pigs in the 'burbs

no, thats "way over" 300. I'd say "just under" 400 for that car, seeing as we're splitting hairs. the cars I'm referring to raced two years ago at willowbank and all I was told by the Rigoli guys in pitlane were that they were pushing out "over 300kw at the wheels".

My car - an EVO 7 - never taken it to the track so don't know how fast it will go - speedo is only marked to 180km/h too (208kW AWD factory-spec).

Really then it's my host father in Japan's R33 Skyline GTR at +240km/h at Suzuka (fully-worked Skyline for racing +350kW).

Well the exiting one for me was a Lamborgini, dunno what type, didn't look, didn't care, just spoke to the dude about the engine...5.0L V10 500BHP (373KW).

Gave ait a 'bit' of a squirt...

...but it didn't feel quick, the HSV C4B (GTS 300KW) engine has to be the quickest feeling engine, probably cause is it so bloody rough and loud - I've driven several of these.

So the list is:

Lambo - 12.?
HSV's - 13.3
VK 304 - 13.8 (my old car)
SRi-T - 14.0 (current Car)

Fastest car driven - a friends Skyline R-34GTR with 300kws ATW, scariest car I've been in was when I lived in the UK, there a friend of mine had a Ford Cosworth Sierra RS500, (the limited Edn one with twin injectors per cyl - like the ones you got/banned here that kicked the Dunnydoors butts at Bathurst etc), that was tuned to over 500bhp - that thing was scary!

Foot down hard, wait for the enormous amount of turbo lag to catch up then all hell broke lose, would just spin up/slide everywhere, always felt like it was trying to kill you! (still heaps of fun though all the same).

all it takes is a good setup on a car not kw to run the times. ive seen some cars puting out only mild hp and then run very good times all because they had the setup perfect. the perfect setup one day may not be perfect the next. ask any experienced dragracer.

Most powerful driven? VY Commodore Ute (Starr Performance development car) It made 492kw at the rear wheels with a massive Whipple supercharger. Wasn't the fastest as all it was good at was turning it's rear tyres into a molten mess!:D

Fastest? Ferrari 360GT (ex-ACEMCOO ALMS). I went for a spin around Eastern Creek at last years A1GP meeting during the media ride session with Allan Simonsen. He still managed a 1.36.8 even with my rag doll ballast next to him. man thatthing had some grip. You see the accelermoeter readings on the data logging but you never really appreciate what that means until you hit the first corner at speed!

Other's of note. Ferrari F40LM (from the Fox collection and as a passenger) and one of our Dallara F396 Mugen/Honda's, although that was only a short blat. I keep meaning to take it out one day and blow the dust off of it.

Also a long list of exotic stuff that I won't count as it was only on the dyno!

The most spin tingling ride I ever had was when my future father-in-law took me for a run in his 1956 Jag MK 2 150 (I think that right, but I'm no Jag expert). Yes, an old car, but it had skinny little tyres on it and orginal brakes, not something built for speed you would think.
Yet the old bastard knew excatly how to drive it quick. We went to one of the scarier roads locally and he fanged the hell out of it. Should have seen the glint in the old buggers eyes! Scared seven levels of crap out of me - he had it oversterring and tyres screaming, but he never lost control.

I've had fast rides in Commonders, BMW's and WRX's scince, but for white knuckle, heart racing rush, nothing beats that Saturday in the Jag.

Also today i did a BMW driver training course, raced new 325i's round Phillip island for the whole day, then scored a few hot laps in an M3, simply breathtaking!!!!!!!! Those BMW driver days are a lot of fun, cant wait to do one again, last time I got a hot lap in a M3 CSL, it hit its speed limiter on the back straight….very cool.

Awesome, lucky you :)

You'll have to invite me over to your work and take me for a spin in the new M3 when it arrives, I've driven both E36 and E46 and want to experience how this new V8 beast will be like :D and yes it's shaping up to be quite a looker - checked out pics of the new 3 series vert with 3 piece hard top, just like the AH twin top, looks hot !!!

335i twin turbo convertible mmmmmmm yummie, except for the price :)

not sure what the fastest car I've been in, but the fastests car I've driven would be a skyline without a doubt.

Fastest I've driven:
VX SS Ute: My father had one from his work, so I took it along the Pacific Highway, fun, unfortunatly was an auto though.
BF XR6 Turbo: Got to take this one around Oran Park, was a manual had plenty of fun in that.

Fastest Ridden In:
One of those Mercedes Convertable things, can't remember what it was.

As of today:

http://www.edmunds.net.au/acer/images/IMG_1181.jpg

Car: 996 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup
Driver: Peter Fitzgerald
Shotgun/Navigator/clinging to dear life: Me

Engine: watercooled 6cyl boxer
Max power: 400HP (294kW) @ 7300rpm
Max torque: 400Nm @ 6400rpm

The top speed that I saw while we were on the track was 204kph down the back straight at Willowbank - it was only very brief, we were then fast approaching the next corner which turns back on itself. Peter hit the anchors (at 100m out!!!) and brought us back to 95kph, right before the corner entry. Incredible stopping power. 355mm carbon ceramic front brakes with 6 piston calipers. Wish I could bolt them to my GT... :D

I used to work for Finemores Vehicle Transport, I was lucky enough to drive many sweet rides like a Lotus Elise(dunno if i spelt that right) An Aston Martin, Numerous HSVs and XR8s a Porshe 911 but the best ride I had the privaledge of driving was a 2001 Celica Rally Australia entrants car on its way to Targa Tasmania, It was SSSSwwwwweeeetttttt! I turned the key and the engine was goin' Blump......Blump......Blump and my pulse started goin' at 120 Mph! It had two speeds Standin still and Flat out! The cam was so lumpy I stalled it the first time I tried to take off, but I figured I had to give it the boot and came Fangin' around a corner and there was the boss shakin his head, he gave me the "What the flyin *&@# are you doin'?" thing and I said if you can drive it slowly be my guest! He stalled it too and muttered something about be carefull not to crash it! LOL
