whats the deal with the astra G coupe... the one that looks like a cally in the rear half from the side... the one we didnt get in australia?

was this a different model to the two door astras we got here, or was this an earlier model of the two door astra g?

this is the one im talking about... the 2 door astras we got here had a pudgier ass :p

u can get the manaro over there but the rest are imports do a serch on auto trader UK there are Maloos Crewmans and Clubsports they even have there own club cant remeber the site thou. apparantly a bich to drive arround londons tiny streets lol

yeah troy, thats the astra coupe, the one that never made it to our shores.. wish we got that instead of the hatchback.. i reckon it looks a little like a modern design calibra.. sex on wheels..

also - who won the vxr vs wrx drag and what times did u see on the day? (assuming u took the pix)

the VXR was all over the STi, (all my pics)
best time seen on the day for a VXR was a tuned number which ran 13.6 which was early during the day, nice and cool, most ran around miday onwards with temps around 26 degrees on the track which makes santa pod very sticky and times down, most i seen run ran low to mid 14's (14.2)

The grey Astra H is my car, as well.

The Astra G coupe is exactly that, a real coupe. It has a boot instead of a hatchback and is a true 2 door car. I'd still have mine if I hadn't become a dog owner!

The 888 coupe is a dogs dinner of a car, in my opinion. Badly fitted bolt-on tat, no extra go and not even an exclusive colour. Europa Blue was available on standard Turbo coupes and on the NA SE models.

As you may have guessed, I don't like 'em!!

I'd have to agree with you on some bits though, the rear spoiler looks out of place on the Mk4 T8, but I especially like the front splitter, side skirt panels and wheels.

Yes, colour could have been a bit more exclusive, Sparco front seats are an added bonus cept the interior trimmings in the back don't match the front

bit of a quick bodged job really, most had to go back to T8 to have the body kits refitted (glue and masking tape really) and no actual tuning went into the engine other than a de-restricted box and performance pannel air filter, pretty much a bolt on job in reality

And yes Troy, the Astra G Coupe is a very stunning car combining both Astra G and Calibra styling in one, it uses the same wheelbase and platform as the sedan and convertible.......I've brought this up a few times on the Cali forums, you must have missed them.

Had they brought that model to Oz, I would have said bye bye to my Cali immediately and purchased one of them.......

Yeh it looks nice but I think that's either a 888 Astra or an SRi (or whatever their model designation is over there), not the VXR. By the way, those multispoke wheels do look awesome and suit the car perfectly but they seem very common there.

There is a red and a blue vxr with those rims on tho!

Silver one is most probably the 888 Astra CDTi and the wheels are made by Team Dynamics(i think) and finished in anthracite
