wonder if its like the old vr and vs 5ltr. they have a fuel line that rubs on the firewall. when the line gets a hole it pools up ontop of the maifold untill it drips onto a nice hot exhaust. my mate found this out threw experience when he backed out of my driveway. looked pretty cool but was he p!ssed. any idea what caused the fire in the monaro?

The bloke reckons the engine cover rubbed a hole through the fuel line. Different engine covers on the exported Pontiac GTO to the locally sold Monaro.

That is a terrible sight for any car.........

Wonder what's going on there, I mean someones got time to stand back and take photo's, but do nothing about trying to put the fire out ?

Or maybe just in the middle of no where and it all sparked up after a pad**** bashing session.........

Not a lot you can do mate once it's got hold, particularly when a fuel hose is pumping fuel onto it.

Indeed, unless you have a bloody big fire extinguisher or a fire truck handy ;)
