Hey guys,
Thought i'd start an interesting thread about things you think, or other people think are cool about your car. Can be from the headlights, to the climate control... anything at all. Let us know :)

everyone loves the mirrors on my vectra B. personally i like the car all round, it's comfortable, fits 5 adults easily and has a large boot. it's got half decent power, it's no balltearer nor is it a slouch and it has great fuel economy

People just go wild over the muffin holder in the Glovebox (a.k.a cup holder).

I mean, what could be cooler then having your own muffin holder? :p

and what makes it more cool - there is one in the consol too, because I am often caught out with having two muffins and only one muffin holder :D

But in all seriousness, I do like them, and I also think the deadlocking on the inside is a cool feature, if you double click the keyless entry how it locks the car inside, so you can't get out. Not that it really ever comes in use

and you can't go past the badging, either you get sh1t for it, or others think it's really cool and unique! and I personally think it's one of the best features of the car because it sets it apart from all the other Barina's - whether modded or not. Anyone can mod a Barina after all.

everything from the free tint, floor mats, weathershields and the cruise control ($850) to the included red dash, 6 cd stacker with mp3 player and the climate control, full leather interior and 5x16" alloy wheels....

and of course the 103.8kw at the wheels 100% stock and not super/turbo charged... all for less than $30,000

and cheap to insure and run too :D

People who see it for the first time go 'WOW!'
Those who know it love the sunroof and the total closure.
Most are suprised by the 1.8lt POWAHHH!!, the ride (which is sometimes a little harsh) and the handling.
Mrs Pred LOVES the 'go'

apart from that the Citroen C2 VTR had many more WOWs from me, chilled glovebox, Auto lights and wipers and crappy gearbox.

Um....

My factory-stock colour coded side skirts. So many people look at them and ask if they're an aftermarket kit, and go "oooh, nice" when I tell 'em that they came this way.

Probably the other thing is when I'm at low speed, I get people watching me go by. That's kinda cool :) Used to get some good double-takes with the Opel badging, but I still seem to get it with the Holden ones again. Almost like some people aren't quite sure what car it is...

Way too much to mention that I love about my TS Turbo Convertible, but the recent addition of 20's and M3 electric/heated mirrors look soooo hot, I just melt.............LOL.

Don't know if anyone else has fitted M3 mirrors to a convertible yet, I'm always doing things to mine to make sure it's unique.

I love the fact that you can park a Barina anywhere and no one is going to bother to steal it (touches wood). I also love the fact I can squeeze it into parks that wont fit an astra (or equiv.) and the fact that no one rates the SRi.

There are bugger-all SRi hatches on the road, so I like the way people look at it, especially other Astra owners. Second glance, and they see it's lowered with the wheels, the tyres and the bodykit.

For the driver, the leather seats are hard to beat. Not only does it look and feel luxurious, the extra side bolstering holds me in place like no other car I've driven before.

And of course there's the six airbags, cruise control, climate control - the climate control is brilliant.

Plus the stereo is not too bad for a standard system. Although I'm thinking about investing some into doing an upgrade. Only thing that concerns me is adding a sub = no boot :(

I've been using a product called 'Rain X' for about 20 years on my cars - it gives the above effect on any car windshield and at speeds of well below 100km/h, it even worked on my old VH SL/E Commodore with an almost 90 degree windshield ;)

I've also discovered that if you polish your windshield with most other cleaning aids, it also has that effect - I don't need to use wipers unless it's dirty or raining very heavily on all my cars :)

Replaced all the speakers and 2 12" subs...... My stuff is fairly expensive, but good quality.

Subs - $800
Amps - $600
Rear speakers - $200
Front component speakers - $1100

You could probably get a sub, amp and front speakers that are decent quality for around $800. But installation can be expensive.

Rear speakers - $200
Front component speakers - $1100

You could probably get a sub, amp and front speakers that are decent quality for around $800. But installation can be expensive.

It's 'pays' to get good quality ICE hardware, not only does it sound better, it'll last longer and usually looks better/prettier too :)

I wish my ICE hardware cost as little as that above.....

Here I am thinking I was the only one who wax n polishes the windscreen :)
HAHA, yea i do look retarded when i do it!

Not sure about the AH's but if they're like previous Opels, there are 2 horns not one, that's why they're so loud :)
yes i wish the button on the steering wheel would control one.
so left button would control one horn and the right button control the 2nd horn.

you could play melodies then!!

I thought they just screwed up in Opel in Belgium?! Or does Holden usually give full sized Alloy's as spares in the Astra's?

I've been using a product called 'Rain X' for about 20 years on my cars - it gives the above effect on any car windshield and at speeds of well below 100km/h, it even worked on my old VH SL/E Commodore with an almost 90 degree windshield ;)

I've also discovered that if you polish your windshield with most other cleaning aids, it also has that effect - I don't need to use wipers unless it's dirty or raining very heavily on all my cars :)

I use ArmorAll window cleaner, does a similar thing, probably why the water runs off so easy :)

Surprised noone said anything regarding the AH's thick rimmed leather multi-function steering wheel. That was the first thing I saw when I test drove one and went "This feels gooooood!" Love the steering wheel.

Also;
Love the 18s.
Love the shape/design with the turbo kit.
Love the power (but I want a little more :p ).
Love the handling (& the current ride height).
Love the gear knob (nice and chunky).
Love the climate control, needs a little time to adjust though.

Agree, once you've had one, you can't go without on another car, ie: unless you get yourself a vert, probably the best thing I love about my Astra is that being a convertible you literally have 2 cars in 1 :)

- white SRiT wheels
- new tail lights (factory UK spec)
- ride height and handling from Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs

The coolest thing in my current car is the big V8 under the bonnet!!!!

But going back to my Astra, best feature (i know it's aftermarket but was simple to install into the car than others) was my auto close windows!!!

Just the fun of leaving your windows open and everyone going 'hey you left your windows open' and i'd walk away as if i didn't care!!! Then one touch and bang all the windows close, i get excited over simple things!!!

Plus the fuel consumption, ohhh do i miss the fuel consumption!!!!

Probably could but the Astra is parked in the garage at home and undercover at work so very rarely it'll be outside.
