^^^YEAH BABY!!^^^

Mine apparently had never had an oil change in its life of 130,000kms. Hrmmm...can you say "Clogged Engine!" So i had to pull the head of and totally clean all the rockers, pushrods and as much as the block and head as possible!!

Well,
First car: Volvo 244DL
second Car: Nissan Pintara 2.4L 92 model (parents car - which i claimed ownership of for 1 year!)
Third: Sigma 2L stage 3 modded motor, twin carbies, rollcage, stripped, harnesses :)
Fourth: Magna (1988 model) - auto "Elite" model... nice and comfy, and that was it.... It went through 1L of oil a week and 2nd gear went in the auto... Paid 1400 sold for 1200 :D (it was perfect when i got it)
Fifth: Volvo 740 (now has 235,000k's) - sold to sister - still works 100% was a real tank :D
Sixth: Astra!

A Landcruiser  and a v.nice modified MY98 WRX daily driver. Stroked 2.214cc, 220kw+ ATW's all day and 11sec 1/4's. Great thing to drive, better thing to race, very bad thing to keep on the road!!!! Can anyone say replacement gearboxes (3), spun bearings, blown turbos!!!! But hard to say no to 3rd gear 4 wheel drifts out of roundabouts or serious late night fangs up the old Pacific Hwy from Brooklyn to Gosford. :D

Mitsubishi L300 Van. It nearly burnt more oil than fuel and guzzled every drop. But it was a free car and I sold it to a second hand yard for $500. I still see it around on the road although It's had a recon put in it I believe.

my first car was a fully stock 82 TF gemini, and I dun it up hard bro!! well it was cool by altona standards anyway. i mean what choice did an 18 year old have when he lived in altona  .. there was only one choice... GEMINI! prefect form hanging out at da beach bro

i had fully polished camira SL/E rims. compressed springs 3" (who cares, it's all about looks, not handling) fully worked stock motor, chopped rear muffler, custom installed extractors (hammer, hacksaw, socket set were the only tools used  )... let me just say it was sick

jokes aside it wasn't bad for a first car :P tried to take on a few mums in excels but failed.

would love to have been in kid_sri's gemini... i think i would have blown a load if i saw that when i owned my gemini

I went through 3 engines in my gemini before it got trashed. 1600 (needed rings and I figured if I was up for a rebuild it might as well be a transplant) then a 1800 twincam (Blew a welch plug out and cracked the head) and last a 2lt double bumper. Couldnt put a turbo in there as it was illegal in QLD...well the 2lt twincam was too.

2nd fell out of the stock 4 cog box twice before a celica 5 went in

Left it in a carpark for a few weeks while I was away. Came back and the 3k kenwood ice was missing, as was the rims, some engine bay items and other stuff inside... they even took my flaiming leads. I wish the bastards had thrown a match in it when they were done... I would have gotten a little money back for it.

InsaneAsylum

and then 5000 naturally aspirated VL turbo owners all shouted "OMG SIK" in unison

it's easy to get sick of altona beach (pardon the pun) when you live in altona and your not a dick head. heaps of dickheads and mini dickheads driving their dad's vp on their L's thinking they're so cool, it's all the same crap, but now they're discovered the 180sx and R33 skyline, oh what a shame :P

They Big End Bearings and Head Gaskets B4 Rings.
Thats the One Thing about Isuzu Engines I Love, RELIABILITY IS EVERYTHING.
I've only Blown up on Gemi Engine(G161Z), Between Benella and Wangaratta @ 3am going to Sydney.
Mind the Engine was Furked and Burnt Oil some thing Cronic and I never topped it Up. So it was a Wise Rule, If its Stuffed don't expect it to sit on 5500rpm @150km/h(Auto) and Expect it to Live.

Bought the TS in 2000 but an N13 Nissan Pulsar (rebadged holden astra) in 1995. Had both cars for a while as missus drove the TS (auto) and I clunked around in the N13. Finally traded the N13 in this year for a Camry Altise Sports V6.. (a sportivo w/o window dressing).. it rocks but i still prefer the TS for everyday driving.. easy to park and after 4 years plus still no squeaks and damn quiet. wish it had more ooomph tho' well.. will replace it in about 4 years for the latest astra :D

Before my Astra I had a 1985 RB Gemini SL/X sedan. Absolute ripper of a car, basically bulletproof. In the four years that I owned it, it got extractors/sports exhaust and a set of 14" Camira SJ alloys that I bought for $80 and resprayed silver myself. Got offered $1000 as a trade in but sold it privately for $3200 and still see it around sometimes.

I learned to drive in my parents' VP SS....man I miss that car.

Mazda 121 Bubble (sisters car)
AStra SRi

Best cars of those would be the N14 SSS and the 306 GTi-6 (loved that car)

Most disappointing were the Ford TX3 (crap ford build quality) and Astina V6 (drank like a Commodore and performed like a 1.8L shopping trolley)

Methinks you'd be someone I know from aus.cars then :)

Well, being the European Car-Snob that I am, these were what I drove before I came to Australia...

1. Citroen BX16, a la pic below:
http://home1.stofanet.dk/mfo/Graf/Bx16.jpg

and then a Gold Mercedez Benz 280SE, a la pic below:
http://www.monkeyads.com/proofs/_28557_36267.jpg

Damn I miss both, the Benz however became a tad too thirsty to justify the petroleum prices back over there. We've got it good here boys n' girls.

Before my Vectra GL pre update I had a 1990 VN Commodore, Calais. A piece of junk it was. http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/3/web/471000-471999/471923_5.jpg

I learnt to drive in my parents '96 Civic GLi.

My first car was an SV21 '91 Camry 2.0L 4cyl auto. Nice road trip car. Dad bought me that one.

Last September I traded it in on a 2003 Lancer GLi Coupe (http://members.iinet.net.au/~baedmunds/tim/Lancer/withwheels/storm.jpg) 1.5L manual, and rolled out of the car yard with 20km on the odo. Put about $5000 into the mods on that one, ranging from the tint, through to KYB shocks.

Last month I traded that in on my manual JSII Vectra, and couldn't be happier.

I want to find a good quality Mini, preferably either a '64 round-nose van or a Mayfair, and do it up, just for something to do. Finances at the moment, however, are dragging that dream through the dirt...

There are actually a few BX's and old CX-Pallas models in my neck of the woods, definitely worth snapping-up and keeping if they're in good condition. :)

If I could get my hands on maybe a nice CX like the one below, I'd be a very contented chap.

I am late to this topic but...

84 Mazda 323SS (it was the hot hatch for back then) it had an untimely demise when a suspension component broke and I spun off a straight section of road and reversed at about 80 into a rather solic fence post. RIP 323.
2001 CW50 Yamaha Zuma... that scooter rocked and got thrashed.
XS250 rode it once, down a hill without the engine running. Never got the engine running. Onsold it for a small profit some one who apparently knew how to get the engine running. He never did.
84 XJ900 that went pretty hard for an old bike... massive speeding ticket and subisquent solicitors advice and bills required its sale.
01 Jeep Wrangler - stolen from parents when they stopped using it in 2003 and also in leiu of them paying me for the many hours a week I worked at their business on the weekends. Gave it back after six months when fuel bills got the better of me.
THen the 03 SXi (paid for with the savings in fuel bill).

Have had temporary posession (and associated servicing costs) of some cars which were technically not mine -- although I contributed financially to their not being reposessed:
1996 CRX Del Sol - or it may have been 1995 - done for dangerous driving at somewhere around 230km/hr in that.
'90 300ZX twin turbo... that was cool neva got a ticket in it... somehow.
Volvo 360 - its my gf's... I pay for its repairs  ... she owns it.

My first car was an '88 barina that my grandma gave me when she gave up driving, which was fun around corners but not so good for anything else.
Second car was a '90 Civic GL. Lots of fun to drive, lots of things wrong with it that kept it interesting. Having driven that car, I can now handle just about anything, cos the gearbox and clutch was very temperamental.
I had a VY Commodore wagon for a few months as a company car. Glad to give that back. Too heavy for me and it was quite clear that they cut a lot of corners when they built it.
Went back to the civic for a few months after giving that back, then inherited a 1994 BMW 318is in near perfect condition. Once I'd started driving that I gave up on japanese cars. Unfortunately it was written off by an RAC patrol car that missed a stop sign 2 weeks later, so having got used to german cars, I bought the astra with the insurance money. I'd love to get another bmw, but it's too expensive to keep.
