The old Clio 182 used to do 0-100 in 7.5!!!

Ok, so other than the VXR this is the only other car that is on my radar.
Just gotta wait and see when it comes to oz :D

even with the lighter 3 door, thats far from any test i've read about in Australia/OS.

but yeah the new clio sport, looking good...

oh, motor got the current 182 to do 0-100 in 7.1, easily beating the golf gti in the same test..

but golf GTi, i gotta go drive one, because they just don't do it for me... in 5 door form anyway. Golf R32, i'll give my right nut for.. haha

Me thinks the Clio will be 10 Grand cheaper than VXR and 8 Grand cheaper than GTi, it's just in the smaller car class. You can bet it will handle as good or better than both of them.....a real little road weapon.
Hopefully it will hold together, but then again, it's french.............
GTi is nice and refined, a bit grown-up, the Clio will probably be a little manic and eager to be thrashed..........sounds good, doesn't it!

One wonders how it will get that acceleration figure when it weighs close to 1300kg!! It's nearly 200kg more than the current Clio 182.

i recon the xr5 looks sweet. dont know how tunable the motor would be though. my dad has a s40 volvo 2.0lt turbo. he went to have it tuned abit and they said the motor cant handle it. prob just another lazy tuner

i think outta that list the only one i would change would be the R32 to the golf gti, and add the quattro audi a4 in there too and get rid of the vxr completly.

I think it depends on the s40 in question.... the earlier shape had different engines, but i'm pretty sure the new shape ones all have the 5 cyl 2.5 litre... from memory i think there's one n/a and 2 tunes of turbo - i think the most powerful turbo is pretty much yanked straight from volvo and put in the xr5.

yeah your right. i wasnt implying that my dads car had the motor of the xr5.(wish it did). his is 4 cylinder 2 litre turbo. low pressure turbo. just that this guy said that the volvo motor cant handle tuning.

UK mags have tested it extensively and the best i have seen is 6.5

get ppl that can really drive cars to try it, some jap drift and race drivers got it in 6 flat in a DSG, but who knows how accurate it is.

I saw a Megane turbo yesterday on the freeway in a hot deep red/orange colour. I think it looked great!
Different, but i really liked it!
And boy does it move.

still an ugly French car lol but saves the VXR from daily commuting and shopping centre car parks : )
