Another quick statistic for you all.

Since we bought the new migration online, we have transfered almost one gigabyte of data.

Not bad for a website.

Yeah but half of that is probably sigs and avatars :D (and smilies)

And your graphs look like they're running a bit lean Wayne.

Needs more fuel..!! Maybe direct port NOS..!!

We moved 6+gig last month. And yeah I agree, there are a lot of graphics in there.

It would be interesting to know what they class a hit as.
My understanding is; How Idiots Track Success.....

Anyway you look at it, OpelAus is growing. We have gained 170+ new members since the last migration. And the stats keep rising....

time to start deleting inactive members and freeing up server space.

Depends, you have to work out how many stick around to read sections they cannot as non-members

Dregger
20th July 2004, 10:08 PM
its not that they uses up the usage...its that fact that we jsut have more and more members that are using the site more! i

its a good thing...but we nee to make sure we accomodate them,.

With nearly 600 members, of which the last 200 have joined in the last 2 months, myself included. However they cannot be using the site much if the record amount of people logged in is 33 at any one time. Of that 33 there would be at least 5 that are constantly logged in and another 5-10 daily users.

Deleting inactive members is maybe a good idea, but rather harsh, maybe after being inactive for 2 months for example. Another idea would be to only allow pictures to be posted once contributor or junior poster, and fancy Avatars at a certain level also.

Avator size limits would be good.

Faster page loading.

Same goes to sigs.

Dregger

offlinked images are not counted in our stats. they contribute to the usage of the site they are hosted on.

so its mainly the amount of page requests. each time a page is loaded that clocks up usage. its bit hard to explain unless you have webpage building experience.

but in regards to faster loading pages, Autumn acid are you on dial up or what type of internet conneciton do you have?
