If they want to compete with GM and Ford then theyll NEED to add one of their V8 donks or a forcefed unit to the lineup as well THEN they will be on comparable competeing levels.

Have to admit a Lexus V8 powered unit would be 'interesting'

Is that to compete with the Vectra? Because I can't really see that in line with the Commodore and Falcon...

I don't think we have the market here for anything bigger then a Camry from Toyota. That's just my thought.

Other then that, looks alright.

I work for Lexus now after leaving Holden 12 months ago. The engine in the new toyota is the same core engine from the new Lexus IS350. This engine in Toyota spec (missing some nice trick stuff) pumps out 190kw. In Lexus spec it's about 230kw (pretty good for a 3.5L V6). Some may say that this is more power than the current 4.3L V8 but it's not, Lexus obided by Japan's law about displaying power output of an engine, these law's have now been abolished.

The IS350 isn't confirmed for Australia but the IS500 is. Expect 0-100 in very low 5's. This will be the same 4.6L V8 used in the new LS460 but worked harder.

There might be a supercharged unit for toyota coming but this will be built on the 3.0L that Toyota is currently using.
