HI Guys,

hope someone might be able to help me out here.
I have a 05 Astra classic.
It has the simtec 71.1 Computer.

Now would this car which has the EOBD (OBD2) Connection be running
the ISO-9141-2 protocol or the newer CAN (ISO-1576) Protocol.
I know the AH astra uses the CAN protocol. Just not sure about the astra classic since it has the 71.1 revision of the simtec ecu

Cheers

Yeah buying a scantool, cause the car seems to ping for 1 or 2 seconds while its underload (especially on a hill). I took it to holden few weeks ago, but it wasnt a hot day so they couldnt hear it. BUt now when i put 95 RON fuel its more noticeable. So i though i would do some of my own check before i take it back to holden next week.
Its kinda pissing me off cause the car is only 7 months old.
Only thing i can think of at the moment is that there is something wrong with the knock sensor.
