Nice car.

Just wondering what else you test drove around the same time to settle on the VXR. Golf GTi, Renaultsport Megane Cup? What were the key things that made you decide on this?

i gotta say i do like it well from the oustside anyway.

the interior i gotta say it gross, and i thought that they would have got rid of the pipe crossing over the engine like that. looks the same 2lt engine the srit have over here? so is it jsut a turbo for the xtra power comes from?

i do like it overall though, but i would still pick the golf anyday(biased much )

may have just been a red coupe - as far as i'm aware there has not been any vxr's imported just yet (except for motor show)

anyone know what happened with that one?? does it stay with a dealer here or does it go back home or what??

it'd have to be a red coupe.. you'd know the vxr if you saw it..

Very, very nice, looks heaps better than the SRi.

Have to do something about that single exhaust tip in the centre rear - just dos'nt look right, needs to be twin tips in that location or twins on each side would look much better.

I might replace my Calibra with one of these when they arrive next year, has a very similar silhouette to the Cali and the engine looks exactly the same (externally ie) as the Z20LET in the TS Astra T.

Nice car.

Just wondering what else you test drove around the same time to settle on the VXR. Golf GTi, Renaultsport Megane Cup? What were the key things that made you decide on this?

drove a golf and it didnt have the same in your face power and thrill factor that the VXR has, a real drivers car and not a passenger driver car as is the GTi and ST.
A guy in my UK club has had just about all that you can possibly own from STI's, GTI'S, etc etc etc and he rates his VXR above the rest in outright fun and thrill behind the wheel so thats gotta say somethin.

the pre prod VXR seen at the Sydney motorshow could now be getting around as a HSV demo.
A magazine i get from being a member of a vxl endorsed club (vauxhallsportscarclub.co.uk) HPm magazine has a article in it saying that the VXR is deffo coming to Aus and predicting 100 per year. Trust me the car is at the top of its class for being a drivers car, forget about the GTi (i found it boring in comparison) and the ST is muchly based of the GTi.
