New cars get self-repairing paint
From: From correspondents in Tokyo
December 06, 2005

NISSAN claims its new car paint can repair its own scratches and scrapes.

The coating contains elastic resin and its rubbery surface can bounce back to repair itself of slight scratches caused by car-washing, off-road driving and fingernails, the company says.

The coat lasts about three years, the company said, and costs a few hundred dollars extra.

Agree with the above post, will probably end up costing more, due to it becoming a big selling feature I'm sure.

However it would be a good idea to see and feel this finish as well, before getting it.

It might look dull and if it feels rubbery, it will attract more dirt which will stick to it.
