As a result of my accident last month, i now have a new left rear suspension, quarter panel, bumper, left rear wheel and left rear door!
Good repair job, no one seems to be able to tell!

No squeeks or creeks either which is a good thing.

McKinnon Smash repairs, if anyone is interested.
Very good quality job, not real fast, but they blame availability of parts for that problem.

Its good that u got it back and that it looks good.

Its bad that it happened and its going to affect your re-sale :(

It shouldn't affect his resale if the repair can't be spotted...

Re-sale wont be an issue for a good 3-5 years so no need to worry me about that just yet!

paint depth gauge could easily spot the repair..and unless they painted teh whole side of the car, i bet u I could spot the repair....

my car was repaired and re-repaired 4 times before they got it right..and all it was was a small dent on the passenger door...they ended up having to strip and re-paint the whole side

silver is not an easy colour to match

Sounds like you were dealing with those blind panel beaters i've heard about....:p I personally cant see where the original body colour is and where the freshly painted region is. So for my motoring future with this car, im pretty satisfied that the smash repairs joint did a lovely job.

trust me, car valuers know how to spot a repair, even if it is very very good

:)

esp if it's metallic, and esp esp if seam sealer has been used (ie replacement of a 1/4 panel)

our valuer even knows the exact type of screws/rivets used on each car to attatch its compiance/build plate, so he can tell if a car has been repaired like that too ;)
