ok a friend of a friend of mine :p lost there licence for speeding and varius other things, he didnt take the go to court and skip bail for a 1 yr probational licence.............instead he opted to ride the suspension out but found him self lost without a car so he drove anyway for varius reasons, uni, medican, grandma, girlfriend, but mr piggy had differnt idea's pulled him over once, court date but before the court date came rolling in about as welcome as a fat kid at a birthday party the friend of a friend let his girlfriend drive in the middle of nowhere as she is just about to get her L's and realy wanted some practice, but like magic or a bad smell mr piggy and his donut wagon decided to apear in there rear view mirror with there village ppl disco lights and promptly cauction the young drivers onto the side of the road and proced to search the inocent astra for illeagle donuts and gay porn as ppl have heard mr piggy likes those kind of things. But allas to the piggys dismay the fat side of pork didnt find a thing. So the fat bloated piggy took the friends girlfriends details while the piggys personal native indian checked the friend of a friends licence and discoverd it was suspended, They then proceded to ask why they shouldnt fine the young couple on the spot but with a whitty remark they left giveing the friends girlfriend a card with a number and the request that they both visit the slaughter house so they can decide there fate. The next day the girlfriend rung the piggy and said that she could not make it there so the piggys came to her and interviewd her, upon closeing of the interview they let her off with a cauction and concluded there power trip with they needed it sworn on tape that the friend of a friend drove the car into the middle of no where so the girlfriend may have a free lesson so that they can proceed to charge the friend of a friend further, well the young lad is still waiting to hear from them. But what the friend of a friend asked me to ask you kind ppl is how well do you know the road rules, can the cops leagly do this and is there some way of geting say a 6am to 10pm driveing permit for uni or work. because so the storie go's if the friend of a friend gets caught driveing again its pass go and procced directly to jail, i personaly think the friend of a friend is much to pretty for a place like that, although i think mr piggy would find some metal bars and 5 horny inmates a very comforting thaught.............dont you just wish things were reversd for a change?

i lost my license for 6 months after going on a good driving behaiviour bond thingy. I rang up QLD transport AFTER my license was suspended trying to get a work license and they said NO because it was already suspended. In other words if theres a chance in hell of your 'friend of a friend' gettin a work license to drive to and from work/uni he's gotta do it before the commencment date of the suspension.

Good Luck

Your friend of a friend is an idiot!

And having a go at the cops for doing their job isnt cool. Its hard enough i imagine to deal with the people they deal with without every second smartass saying "Bacon" and other derogatory remarks.

Quite frankly, if you do somthing wrong you wear it like a man, dont start complaining and looking for a way out when things arnt going your way!

Speeding, Driving without a licence and then Supervising a learner without a licence is rediculous, he should go to jail he obviously has no respect for himself, others on the road or the law!

What sane person would chose to learn to drive with a person who cant even hold there own licence!

This isnt a go at you man, i just dont appreciate the Cop Remarks and i cant stand ignorant people, ignorant drivers well thats just a whole nother level!

As for the question, i believe the only way (In nsw at least) you can get a Controlled licence (Ie- Drive to work) is if you went to court and stood before the judge!

Mind you in his case, i wouldnt be going anywhere near a judge although that may be too late!

I honestly believe in a 3 strike system!

You loose your licence thats 1 strike, caught driving without it thats 1 strike, caught without it supervising an unlicenced driver by christ thats 3 strikes, they should ban him from driving forever!

Your friend is an idiot. He has it coming to him. He had the choice to choose suspension or good behaviour. He chose wrongly.

Does your friend even KNOW what would happen if he had an accident?? Even a small carpark one? You have NO insurance if you don't have a license, not even 3rd party personal. So if you run into someone then they claim whiplash, they can sue your friend for ALL the costs, and he HAS to pay. Can you imagine having a $40,000 loan to cover someone's whiplash (and other pains) after an accident, THEN have to pay, say $20,000 to fix their car??!?!?! Obviously your friend must have some rocks lose or something. The cops CAN do that. They have evidence, doesn't matter how they got the evidence, it's too late for that now, as they HAVE it. He'll be banned for several years now i'd imagine and i seriously doubt he'd get cheap insurance EVER again. Give your friend a kind "you moron" from me, we all have to pay higher insurance premiums so insurers can sue guys like your friend. People drive unlicensed which = uninsured. We pay for them to stuff up....
Give your friend a reality check and he'll give you a refund.

Oh and after all that **** he's done, there's no way a judge would give him a license...

All i can say is i agree with Freaktown and Nutttr, your friend's friend or who ever it is, isn't the smartest person. And as for cops i wouldnt knock them they are just trying to do there job like everyone else is.

Can't anyone on this forum give a straight forward answer to someones question!!

He's probably already figured out that hes been an idiot but thats in the past. he obviously wants to get on with everythin and now he realises how much he needs his car and chances are he will think twice next time.

He didn't ask you guys what you think of his mate he asked us if there any chance of gettin a restricted license to drive too and from work.

anyway...like i said dave, you have to apply for a workers license before your suspension begins and considering the circumstances i don't think they would have given him a restricted license anway.

Sorry bro

Good luck

Jason

Couldn't say it any better myself. Good thing is, he's off the road. But by the sounds of things, that wont stop him.

7 years? in what reality, 1st time its time added to your suspension ie a phuew months, 2nd its a fine, 3rd is normaly jail time. Check out the qld transport web site, i think the 7 yr only applys for a court suspended licence, not a excessive speed or demerat point suspension.

NUTTTR did mention "several years", but surely you couldnt have misread that as seven, could you?

ok in queensland the cannot take your licence from you if you need it to make a living and you will loose your job or source of income with out being able 2 drive for work pourposes,

this said you/ your mate has already declaired they dont need a licence 2 sustain there living and will not fall into financial hardship when it was handed over previously,

i just got my licence back today, i was able to get a work licence from 3am - 10pm monday to saturday, however I DO NEED IT FOR WORK i also had a very good, therefore expensive lawyer,

if your mate really wants to be able to drive consider a lawyer, mine cost $1650 for 2 hearings and i recieved a $200 fine and the cost assoiated with qld transport over cancelation of licence, however i dont think u have much case, get a bus pass

Dave

I lost interest before I finished reading the first post.

Like others said, a little punctuation/spelling and line spacing go a long way!

Well if you are is WA you are screwed (I don't know cos it dose not say were you are from) Any way There is no chance in hell of you getting E plates cos they are being fassed out and the only one i know who has succsesfully got them was only only allowed to drive a pizza delivery scooter that is 50cc of pure power thats like a max speed of like 60kph. And they gave him that cos they sed he was stupid idiot and there was little chance of him ****** any one up on a scooter. so any way i dout you will get the E plates. on the other chance you could apply for a scooter E licence.

lol shhh, dont ya think theyve paid the poor bastard out enoughf without me leaking his identity :p

The simple fact is that i didnt think ahead when i got the letter saying ive been suspended, soon after i realized i needed my lic more then i knew and had to drive, i gues im paying the price for it. But what can you apart from not driveing and haveing to endure a daily headake.

The episode that lost me my lic was rather unfortunat, cruiseing along the M1 overtakeing a long string of cars going with the ppl infront of me and not paying much attention to the speed i was doing. Its turns out i was doing 152. Thats life i gues

acully i still have my licence, its just suspended, and quit with the insults, all i can say is youd feel much the same way if it was reversd and if it ever is ill be the first to laughf in your faces. Put it this way due to lack of decent public transport where i live and the need for a car....let me ask you which would you prefer.

A. Turn into a hermit and watch ya life piss away because you cant get where you need to go when you need to because the public transport is crap. (btw) dont reply with get a lift from a friend, they will never always be able to when ya need a lift or need to go somewhere. If ya wanna pay my taxi fare be my guest ill take taxi's everywhere.

Or

B. Drive any way and dont draw any attention to your self by driveing in a sensible safe manner, geting an education which may lead to a high paying job and going to work.

Not the mention the obivious impact on your social life by not haveing a means of transport that is viable.

I spoke to a cop today......... A decent one if you can believe it. Basicly so it goes is that if I go to court plead guilty which i was going to any way, cop the fine or longer suspension and while im there ask for a workers lincenc's therse a 9 in 10 chance ill get it if i present my self well etc.

If you have a decent judge jail doenst enter the picture for driveing on a suspended licence unless it was suspended for drunk driveing or anything related. Or if you werent pulled over for something totaly stupid like doing 220 in a 60 zone.

But if my licence was revoked by the court or i am bared from holding one then its a different story jail time is almost certan.

Look ppl im not stupid, i need my car, ive just had a run of bad luck, so either lay of, slap ya selfes or live secure with the knowledge that if it ever happens to you and i find out, ill be the first to laughf in your face.

well thanks for clarifying your point,

however driving without a licence or a susspended licence and putting inocent lives at risk is a very imature thing 2 do,

i have been on a work licence for the past 2 months and there was no driving my car outside of work situations, and yes my social life did suffer greatly, but that does not give me the right to drive anyway, its part of growing up take your fine/time like a man dont make excuses

how would u feel if a member of your faimly got hurt or killed by a unlicenced driver or someone holding a restriced licence and was driving outside there restriction,

and the fact u were caught driving without a licence will go against u in court, dont gamble on a good judge, get a lawyer, i can give u contact details of mine if u dont have one, you really do have a uphill battle on your hands
